Original version premiered in May 1976 with the Bejart Ballet at the Theatre Royal de la Monnaie in Brussels. Subsequently expanded to five movements for the Joffrey Ballet, it re-premiered at the New York City Center in December of 1978. It evokes the exuberance of the era through the personalities of high schoolers at an after-school party.
